CHILD LED COMMUNITY

The strength of our community and places is set through childhood. We each have one childhood. It is during childhood our voices, paths and resilience take shape. Every facet of a child’s needs must be cultivated to strengthen our collective childhood. This can only be done through facilitating our children’s security within places and access to fulfilling their need throughout the public realm, that it is in the everyday and interweaved in villages, towns and communities. The UN Convention on the rights of the child in 1989 as signed by Ireland stated on participation rights :

“ encompass children’s freedom to express opinions, to have a say in matters effecting their own lives”
